Garden for wildlife

My front garden is for wildlife and full of wildflowers and definitely not boring, unlike my neighbours boring grass and concrete

A Trip To Crich Tramway Village

On Wednesday my other half and I decided to take a trip out to the Crich Tramway Village. What started off as a cloudy day developed into a lovely sunny one.
We took a lovely leisurely drive into Derbyshire the countryside is really pretty.

Once we arrived we took a ride on an open topped tram, it's only a short ride but definitely worth it.

There is a lovely woodland walk so on the return journey we got off at the stop.

A Girl Can Never Have Enough Fleece.

You know what it's like you're surrounded by fleece of various breeds but one catches your eye that you've not tried before. So what's a girl supposed to do, you guessed it, buy some. What caught my eye while browsing the internet was lovely Gotland fleece from Pedwardine Gotlands in Lincolnshire.
So I contacted the lovely Amanda who was busy shearing and sorting fleece for orders she already had, luckily she had enough to go round.

When it arrived I had to get started right away. So washed and dried spinning began. It is a beautiful steely grey colour and is lovely to spin.
I've spun to singles so now I'm going to ply them.
I'll post that at a later date.

Sunday 2 June 2013

Early Sunday Morning.

Got up at 5.15 this morning, couldn't sleep. I'm a bit of an insomniac.

The sun was coming up through the trees so I think a beautiful day is in store.

Went out to feed the hens and the resident wood pigeon was waiting on the roof for his breakfast.

So I loaded up the bird table and before I'd put the lid on the feed bin he was there.
